We are looking for an experienced Trims Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the future product a billion-dollar successful Brand.

This Trims Manager role is an opportunity to harness your trims development experience to lead a dynamic team that sources and develops all trim components.

The hybrid working pattern features a minimum three days a week at the headquarters in the West Midlands

The role:

  • As a passionate Trims Manager, you will have a highly influential role in shaping products and developing the capability and impact of the trims team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and executing new material developments from concept to PO placement.

  • Establishing technical approval (buy-ready status) in line with critical path timelines; creative direction; sourcing and product strategy.

  • Ensuring trims are developed to the highest quality and delivered on-time to meet manufacturing dates.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional business partners in Design, Sourcing and Product Buying to deliver a range and product structure.

  • Leading, coaching and developing Trim Developers.

  • Contributing towards the material toolbox.

  • Leading material allocation / selection meetings – and coaching teams on how to drive consolidation to improve material efficiency.

  • Partnering with T1 – T4 suppliers to source and develop materials from concept to production.

  • Negotiating and delivering trim prices.

  • Delivering patentable innovation as well as deliver new-to-market ideas &/or sustainability initiatives.

Skills required:

  • Proven trims development experience, with excellent know-how of trim application to support the aesthetic, functional, technical and commercial needs of the product.

  • Strong understanding of the apparel design and development lifecycle.

  • Strong knowledge of trim physical properties and performance testing.

  • Advanced technical materials knowledge, including fibres, yarns, knit and woven fabrications, printing application, dyeing and finishing,

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate problems, offer solutions, and address issues with materials.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and communication skills including the ability to deliver presentations to various business levels.
