Sustainability Manager

Our Client is highly successful FMCG business where sustainability is an ever-evolving commitment. With their global reach, they take a proactive approach to seeking new materials and sustainable solutions.

We are looking for a Sustainability Manager with a sound knowledge of plastics, packaging and beauty products to actively drive their strategy and vision.

The successful candidate will map where the business is currently positioned and identify digital tools to support its sustainability management.

The Sustainability Manager will create targets for material use and facilitate progression towards meeting those targets.

They will be an expert in measuring and monitoring the company’s environmental footprint and have an awareness of impending global ‘greenwashing’ standards.

The candidate will have a broad knowledge of materials, textiles and non-textile, to ensure new and innovative materials are commercially viable and compliant for global market use.

Essential requirements

• Relevant and substantial industry experience in a similar role

• Strong sourcing skills, particularly in new and emerging materials.

• Engaged with current sustainability trends and market developments

• Technical understanding of a broad range of material types including manufacturing

• Knowledge of a broad range of product types inc packaging, hard and soft goods, accessories, tech

• Excellent understanding of global recycling possibilities and limitations

• Understanding of commercial requirements to bring new materials into the business

• Understanding of global trade and consumer product supply chains

• Strong understanding of ethical and sustainable topics such as circular design, climate change, carbon footprint, animal welfare etc

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Collaborative mindset
