We have a vacancy for a Product Technologist - Homeware, with an established design, development and sourcing company specializing in a wide range of household products including tableware, ceramics, kitchen & bathroom accessories, storage solutions and decorative wall items.
Our Client works closely with their retail partners to provide a bespoke design service for their own label designing products tailored specifically to their customer’s needs.
Our Client manages all aspects of the supply chain from product design and development, factory selections, auditing, price negotiations, packaging and labelling, as well as all quality assurance and pre shipment inspections. They have an office in China managing the manufacturing of their products.
The Quality Manager will manage all aspects of the product’s quality and development liaising with the design team, customer’s technical department and production team based in China.
This is a stand-alone role requiring experience across a broad range of materials including – Ceramics, metal, plastic, glass, timber, resin, natural woven products.
Experience and Skills required
Previous experience in a technical role in Housewares industry is essential for this position, preferably at Technologist level, although all candidates with relevant and adequate experience will be considered
A broad knowledge and understanding of materials used in the production of housewares is essential.
Understanding and preferably hands on experience of production processes for a range of houseware products.
Experience of factory auditing, both Technical and Ethical.
Sound understanding of legislation and safety requirements relevant to the product is critical
The following would be a distinct advantage
Knowledge of packaging processes and storage requirements of homeware including ceramics
An understanding of current packaging regulations, prevailing and upcoming environmental legislation
An interest and knowledge of sustainability issues relevant to the product and the ability to utilize this knowledge to advance and client’s / product’s environmental footprint.
