Our Client, an International consultancy specialising in Motorcycle products, has a vacancy for a Product Developer in Motorcycle Technical Clothing including Leather, Performance, Textiles, Gloves, Footwear, Helmets, Jerseys, Woven, Headwear and Merchandise.
The successful candidate will work with a small but busy team based in North London focusing on the development of performance and casual outerwear categories for International motorcycle brands. Performance outerwear includes motorcycle riding jacket, jeans, helmet, footwear, and gloves. Casual outerwear includes leather and textile jackets.
Objectives
Reporting to the Development and Production Manager the Product Developer will become the expert within the team for technical wear and be fully proficient with the
requirements of specified categories and the wider competitive marketplace.
Job Description
The Product Developer will work within the Product Development team and communicate with manufacturers globally to develop high quality outerwear.
To liaise with designers and manufacturers to develop the products and bring them to market from concept to purchase order. Ensure that products meet or exceed sales, margin, testing requirements.
To develop products, to satisfy the business plan, the QC/CE standards and brand strategy, for the specified product category
Work with factories on product development and negotiate cost and lead time,
To follow product through from design to production
Range building, ensuring product quality and styling is right for the market
Desired Skills & Experience
A degree in a relevant discipline combined
Relevant experience in product development and production in outerwear
Knowledge and experience of CE certification for Professional Protective Equipment would be an advantage.
A real passion for performance clothing is essential and preferably a personal interest in motorcycling and motorcycle products.
Candidates must be organized with an eye for detail, highly numerate with excellent communication skills.
A self-starter with a highly proactive approach.
Willing to learn with a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work alone and as part of a close knit team
The skills to multi task and be able to demonstrate excellent time management.
The position may require overseas travel so candidates must be free to travel.
Proficient in windows-based software such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook.
