We are recruiting a Product Compliance Manager for a leading British brand . Working closely with the Director of Product Technology, Compliance and Ethics the product Compliance Manager will ensure that the Client is in the best position for all products to support top-line business strategy and global growth, ensuring compliance to all legislation and safety requirements is delivered.
As an industry professional you will advise and deliver product compliance across product categories. Using your industry contacts and access to global legislation to ensure that all products, labeling and packaging fulfill international requirements.
Product categories include womenswear, menswear, performance outerwear, accessories, footwear, body care, and confectionery.
As an added bonus this position can be managed working from home with monthly trips to head office!
Key responsibilities include:
Creation of strategy for new markets in line with the Client’s global expansion plans. Managing the implementation process, actioning testing and providing evidence.
Ensuring International wholesale product is compliant and backed by due diligence testing.
Manage all product certifications e.g. GOT’S (both supplier certificates and bulk delivery transaction certificates) ensuring the database is updated.
Support new innovative research and verification of processes and development with product teams enabling the Client to stay ahead of the competition.
Hold key relationships and maintain relationships with trading standards and test houses.
Contribute to the Supplier Manual and product compliance and due diligence policies
Work with internal teams to deliver compliant product labeling, branding and packaging required each season.
Skills and Qualifications:
A degree or qualification in a relevant subject
Industry related experience in a similar role preferably within fashion retail or brand environment
Knowledge of RWS, recycled certifications, LWG, other certified fabric/ manufacture processes
Knowledge of country specific legislation for product compliance and due diligence such as USA (16 CSR 1610, PROP 65)
Knowledge of EU REACH regulations, restriction of CMR substances.
Experience in exporting to Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, emerging markets in Asia, and providing testing and Due diligence evidence.
Basic knowledge of food and cosmetic/ skincare requirements including MSDS, product information files, and managing submission to CPNP.
Experience in updating supplier manuals, compliance testing standards, and drafting requirements, and rolling out to our global supply chain.
Experience in conducting risk assessments and delivering due diligence testing program evidence
Knowledge of fabric manufacturing processes and verification of new innovations and product integrity that may require verification or certification.
