We are seeking an enthusiastic, resourceful, hardworking Planner for a leading outdoor sports brand to add value to a fast growing team. This person will report into the Planning Manager and will be responsible for delivering Category Retail performance objectives, in line with seasonal and global growth strategy. Responsible for category retail stock until it reaches warehouses, managing category demand and availability, and for grading products on Range Visualisation
What you'll be doing
Plans department sales, buy and option frameworks for each retail region and grade, inputting into overall Category framework set by the leadership team
Understands and identifies category country/grade/profile opportunities and ensures feedback from the retail trading team is reflected in strategy and buys to create balanced range in line with budget
In conjunction with buying, identify product profiles to feed into range building
Works with Retail Trading and Buying to ensure product opportunities are identified and reacted to
Selects from the overall assortment, options that are suitable for each retail store profile, using Range Vis to create optimal branch
Ensure intake phasing meets region requirements. Ensures range shape/construction is fit for purpose with inputs from Buying and Retail Trading teams, taking into account price establishment timings
Communicates seasonal plans for agreement at range sign offs
Follows through the retail planning critical path, ensuring that all key actions are executed on time.
Ensures all retail planning line lists are fully up-to-date, and that new season prices are set correctly, reflecting range architecture
Size curves are set for each store profile as part of product buying process
Initial store allocations to be set up and reflect product grading sign offs and range visualisation
Responsible for category retail regional WSSIs, identifying and communicating risks and opportunities to leadership and retail trading teams, maintaining accurate forecasts, and that stocks are sufficient to achieve availability and performance KPIs with OTB/OTC within agreed levels
Optimises retail availability, notably on Best Sellers, maximising sales and profit, ensuring sufficient stocks are held at all times, managing CON line cards appropriately, and ensuring intake is optimal
Communicating to respective Trading team where stock is excessive / short to enable effective stock management by Trading
Reviews Category seasonal and sub-seasonal re-coding, ensuring that new season buys and retail ‘top ups’ take into account recoded stock
Achieves critical path milestones to deliver on time retail launch, working closely with suppliers, Buying, and production to optimise launch and availability
Ensure category intake phasing is in line with requirements, reflecting this in weekly PTS requests, ensuring sufficient (and not excess stock) is shipped to warehouses
