Our client, is a leading UK family-owned outdoor lifestyle brand based in Yorkshire
The brand designs and develops all product in-house across mens, womens, childrenswear and accessories and work with a selection of longstanding global suppliers creating high quality, high value product they are known for.
The brand has an opening for an experienced multi product garment technologist to join their team for a 12 month maternity cover.
After the induction period, the role can be worked hybrid; 1 to 2 days in the Head Office in, West Yorkshire with the remaining days of the week working from home.
The role is ideally full time 8-5 Monday-Thursday and 8-1pm on a Friday. But our client will consider flexible hours if workable.

The Role
The role is a fixed term Maternity Cover role as a Garment Technologist reporting to the Head of the Product department. The successful candidate will work closely with the Garment Technologists and Designers on key lifestyle product areas including but not limited to men’s and women’s woven shirts and trousers.
Key Responsibilities
- Able to organise and manage daily workload and ensure the critical path is managed and up to date.
- Confident liaising directly with multiple suppliers in the Far East via email and video call.
- Must have skilled and accurate knowledge in fitting men’s and women’s lifestyle clothing.
- Confidence to approve supplier submissions and test reports.
- In-depth understanding of grading and pattern cutting.
- Ability to create and develop designs from initial spec through all sample development stages.
The Candidate
- Relevant experience in men’s and women’s lifestyle products.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of garment construction, pattern cutting, fitting and grading.
- Good organisational skills, ability to work under pressure and solve problems.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft programs; excel and word and able to operate a Mac.
- Willing to travel when required.
