We have a new opportunity for an experienced Import Merchandiser to join a lovely and highly successful company based in Kentish Town, London. We are looking for candidates who are potentially looking to move into a Lead merchandiser role after 6-12 months, so a great opportunity to develop your career!
Your role within the company will be as follows:
• Working within the production team - reporting directly to the Production Manager / Managing Director - and managing your own customer accounts across Womenswear and Menswear multi product
• Input all new orders for your accounts onto the critical path as soon as they are received and ensure any updated information on the order sheets is passed onto the relevant members in our team, collating official PO’s from our customers and requesting and processing MDA’s, and ensuring all bookings are made on time every week
• Liaise with the garment technologists to ensure that the fit samples are ticketed, processed and prepared in the correct order of priority, and sent out to customers asap
• Liaise with the garment techs ahead of their fit meetings to ensure they are sealing garments on time and getting approvals in line with the critical path. Also get feedback after each fit meeting and where required pass on any fit comment / cost implication comments to the factories to get a new costing. Liaise with your account manager to get any new costings / upcharges approved before sending to your customers
• Oversee production issues on your accounts and ensure these are flagged up to the Production Manager /account manager so the correct decisions can be taken.
• Managing the critical path on your customer accounts and ensuring all dates are maintained and your orders run on time through the technical team and factory production team
• Managing all aspects of your running orders and checking and process incoming lab-dips / labels / bulk fabrics on all of your accounts before they are sent out and ensure any queries on fabrics / lab-dips etc are dealt with quickly and efficiently, liaising with your customers on a daily basis ensuring all approvals are made in line with the critical path trigger dates
• Liaise with the factories and customers to ensure all orders run smoothly and on time, request any extensions / grant extensions to the factories where required and discuss with the Production Manager to ensure the correct discounts are taken
• Manage the approvals on your gold seal samples each week – and ensure the factories make the bookings with the customer forwarder on time. Any delays to be reported to the Production Manager
• Chase and check the shipping documents for your orders. Any discrepancies to be rectified before passing to accounts for payment
• Attend the Weekly CP meeting with the production team, Production Manager and Sales Account Manager to discuss current orders and identify any issues / late delivery problems that need addressing that week
• Regular meetings with your Production Manager to discuss any running production issues / re-occurring problems with the factories which need to be addressed. Be proactive in dealing with issues and identifying any potential issues on your running orders
• Any other task which the Production Manager or Director want you to undertake in relation to your position as a Wholesale Import Merchandiser
This is a responsible autonomous role. Previous experience in a similar position is required, preferably working with multiproduct men’s and womenswear.
