Our Client, a high-end luxury womenswear Brand, have a vacancy for a Garment Technologist to work in their Design office. This is a 3 month temporary vacancy - immediate start! Experience of luxury womenswear is essential for this role.
Garment Technologist responsibilities include:
• Assistance creating / updating specs and comments for the collections prior to preproduction fits across the collections
• Recording accurate notes during PP fits
• Measuring samples as required – this includes SMS samples, PP samples and shipment samples
• Creating and maintaining trackers for the department, ensuring all deliveries are logged and tracked through to approval of shipment samples.
• Creating technical packs to launch with factories across all categories
• Ensuring all comments are followed from pre-production samples when checking shipment samples
• Checking product and packaging against labelling standards
• Seasonal factory visits within the UK and Europe; QC inspection visits
• Approving shipment samples and AQL of production
• Managing customer feedback and monitoring returns. Follow up with suppliers to identify necessary corrective actions.
• Generate reports analysing factories, quality and reliability
• Organizing UPS/DHL to the warehouse once shipment samples have been approved
• Providing technical cover in the absence of the Senior Garment Technologist
• Creating and maintaining good relationships with suppliers and regularly liaising with factories providing them technical support and troubleshooting
• Support the process between Technical, Product Development, Atelier and Production
• Cross-functional working with the project team for the implementation of the new ERP system
• Assist the Goods Inwards Co-ordinator to inspect all goods inwards shipments as directed and in accordance with the Supplier Manual and the Quality Manual.
• Isolate and report on any stock that does not comply with the Brands quality standards.
• Ensure that goods inwards inspection reports are completed on all inspected shipments
• Report all major QC failures to the buying and the supply chain departments
• To assist supply chain in any other related quality inspection process or related stock management process that may be required from time to time.
