We have two fantastic opportunities for two experienced Financial Analysts to join the Finance Department of a leading retailer.

The job role will be reporting into the Head of Finance where your responsibilities will cover all key aspects of finance activity including Financial Accounting and Control, Reporting, Budgeting and Forecasting along with commercial and Supplier Management finance support, making these great opportunities for individuals looking to develop their already well-rounded skillset and progressing within a fast paced commercial business.

Job Purpose

• Production and analysis of budgets and forecasts

• Development and preparation of management reports and variance analysis

• Interpretation of all retail financial/management information and making recommendations to senior management

• Key point of contact for all areas of the business and the Management Reporting team.

• Assisting in the production of the management accounts – liaising with financial accounts to ensure correct accruals and charges in the month

• Presenting results at the month-end review meeting providing explanation of any variances

• Analysis of sales, margin and costs to budget, forecast & last year

• Production of the annual budget & half year forecast whilst continually developing the models

• Production of ad-hoc schedules when required

• Preparation of departmental and business budget centres to trial balance

• Monthly reconciliation of charges posted to the cost centres

• Calculation and posting of accruals and prepayments

• Preparation of figures for inclusion in the monthly management accounts pack

The candidates should be able to demonstrate

• Previous work experience within a commercial environment, retail would be an advantage but not essential

• Preferably actively studying towards a recognised professional accounting qualification

• Excellent spreadsheet skills essential

• Flexible & diplomatic in approach.

• Good communication skills – the role involves dealing with colleagues at all levels and from all areas of the business
