Ecommerce Trading Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an Ecommerce Trading Manager to join the team of an established Brand. The successful candidate will be an organised and driven individual who is able to manage multiple stakeholders, projects and developments at one time. The role encompasses both technical and strategic abilities, ideally suited to a candidate who has previous technical knowledge of infrastructure and web development with a strong history of commercial strategy and trading knowledge.

Ecommerce Trading Manager Responsibilities:

You’ll be responsible for the full customer journey including acquisition, conversion, retention and boosting AOV. As part of a small team working across all divisions of the group, you’ll work closely with photography and external agencies across the key acquisition channels (paid search, email, organic search, social media and affiliates).

Your ‘hands on’ attention will need to be focused on optimising the trading of the site through effective merchandising and overall customer experience. A key part of this role will be communicating with them to implement the insights from analytics and customer behaviour.

What experience you’ll need:

· Sound experience as an Ecommerce Trading Manager with an excellent track record of growth for a multi-channel brand.

· Experience across the full customer journey (acquisition, retention and conversion).

· Comfortable managing a team and external agency support.

· Able to communicate with a range of internal stakeholders including Director Level.

· Confident with forming and driving strategy but also comfortable with a hands-on approach.

· Analytically minded and able to use customer data to inform strategy across eCommerce.

· Strong experience of running Multi websites on Magento 2 platforms.

· Managing the digital marketing strategy for Emails, Instagram and Facebook.

Role Purpose:

· Deliver a compelling and competitive eCommerce proposition for online brands

· Execute and deliver the strategy to deliver sales and operating profit as agreed with the board of Directors across the Group and through concession partners

· Drive the eCommerce and multi-channel development and roadmap implementation

Key Accountabilities:

· Report and analyse eCommerce performance to continuously optimise and grow the business

· Provide reporting and analysis on the eCommerce business to senior management and trading teams with improvement plans

· Responsible for management of the eCommerce platform development, support and user experience

· Identify key technologies and improvements to the user experience and conversion funnel

· Responsible for managing 3rd party supplier relationships including development agencies, marketing agencies and infrastructure

· Responsible for leading, developing and supporting the eCommerce trading managers

· Responsible for management of UK eCommerce team including Online Marketing, Content and Trading, Projects and Development, Customer Services and Operations

· Responsible for managing and improving customer care teams (internal) providing support for multichannel customers and the wider business as a whole

· Lead the development roadmap

· To exceed sales and profit targets for each individual element of the business and the department as a whole through inspirational leadership.

· Review margin, average spend and sales on an on-going basis to ensure that we maximize profitability.

· Build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the customer profile and competition.

· To implement and deliver on a consistent basis standards of service and satisfaction that meet and exceed customer expectations.

· Develop, implement and maintain a digital marketing strategy in conjunction with the Marketing Department and wider business.

· Ensure that all controllable costs are managed to maximize operating profit.

· Recruit, train and develop direct reports within company framework and ensure that all employees are recruited and developed in accordance with company guidelines

· Implement a succession plan for the store, to ensure continuity for all key role.

· Manage and guide team in the efficient and effective management of staff performance

· Ensure protection of all company cash, stock, and other assets through effective management and control of company polices and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

· Previous experience working as an Ecommerce Trading Manager or similar role

· Previous experience of managing multiple Ecommerce sites and businesses required

· Experience at senior management level within a fast paced retail environment

· Experience of managing both in-house and external development teams and resource

· Experience of managing Online Marketing channels

Desirable:

· Experience of working with Magento.

The position is based in Cumbria but our Client could accommodate some flexible working with candidates willing to travel to the Cumbria Head office 2-3 times per week.
