Ecommerce Merchandiser

We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join the vibrant head office of a leading retailer as an Ecommerce Merchandiser.

The role will be pivotal in driving the performance and growth of the E-Commerce channel

Responsibilities / Objectives:

  • Managing stock levels to achieve sales and on-line sell through

  • Providing insight into online trade performance from analytical sales review

  • Provide communication link between the Buying team and the on-line team

  • To manage in-season stock build, allocation and stock availability

  • Grow sales and ensure creation of a balanced product offering, using analytics to optimise the site and drive web traffic

  • Ensure online activity is in line with overall brand and marketing strategy

  • Influencing on-line marketing activity to maximise commercial opportunity based on company level product performance and/or stock levels

  • Consistently manage the flow of product and to work closely with the Buying & Merchandise team to ensure improved availability

  • To coach, motivate and develop the E-Commerce Merchandising Assistant

Essential Criteria:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent)

  • Have worked in a retail environment

  • Be strong numerically and analytically

  • Ability to evolve with the role and adapt to suit expectations as the position develops

  • Ability to manage and motivate the E-commerce Assistant whilst demonstrating own competencies internally – playing a “hands on” role whenever necessary

  • Able to “spot the winners”

  • Commercially minded with an entrepreneurial spirit, able to demonstrate own creativity whilst empowering team to encourage personal development

  • Organisation skills

  • ·Decision making skills

  • Communication skills – able to communicate with all levels in the business professionally

  • PC literate

Preferred Criteria (but not essential as full training will be provided):

  • Experience in a retail Merchandising environment, ideally with E-commerce experience

  • Strong demonstration of range planning

  • Excellent knowledge of forecasting principles

  • Understanding of range planning

  • Thorough understanding of the key elements of the Buying Cycle and the principles of E-Commerce trading

  • Excellent knowledge of forecasting principles

  • Good understanding of the key elements of the Buying Cycle

The role is based in Carlisle Monday to Friday so candidates must live within commuting distance or be able to relocate.
