Business Development Manager

Permanent / Flexible

Our Client, a unique company working in the Design sector is looking for a full-time business development manager from a technical fashion background to join their growing team.

Our Client, partners with a diverse range of creative and passionate designers, many of which showcase at London Fashion Week. The successful candidate will help to build and develop relationships with fashion brands in the luxury market.

You will work closely with the Directors and Atelier manager to ensure they are operating at 100% capacity. You will be responsible for most facets of business development, from initial contact to striking a deal through to managing the client throughout the delivery process. This is a key role, helping to build long term relationships, increase the value of current clients and attract new clients. Your success will be measured by the quality and conversion of the leads you generate.

Key responsibilities

  • Research, initiate, create and manage relationships with the sampling and production teams at high-end designer brands

  • Create and manage a business development pipeline, generating leads and initiating contact with prospective clients

  • Work closely with the atelier manager to understand the weekly and monthly production schedule and to ensure the atelier is operating at full capacity

  • Arrange face-to-face meetings with clients

  • Nurture and develop our relationship with key clients, increasing the value of their orders and breadth of services used

  • Prepare quotes and proposals for clients

  • Liaise with the atelier manage to prepare critical paths for clients

  • Develop goals for business growth and ensure these goals are met

  • Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives

  • Attend conferences, meetings and industry events

  • Research organisations and individuals to find new opportunities

  • Provide specialist advice on the products and services we offer

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Technical knowledge - you will leverage your knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues

  • Communication and interpersonal skills - you will be the go-to person for clients

  • Collaboration skills - you will work with our internal team and the client’s teams

  • Negotiation skills - you will close deals and prepare contracts

  • Project management experience - you will help achieve project goals within the given time constraints

  • Research and strategy experience - you will proactively source new business opportunities

  • Computer skills - you will be proficient in G Suite and Microsoft Office Suite products

  • Business intelligence - you will be a leader, using your experience and available research to preempt market conditions

  • Self-motivation - you will push yourself to achieve your goals

  • Market understanding - you will keep up to date with market trends and a knowledge of the Designer sector would be a distinct advantage

  • Curiosity - you will be determined to understand, learn and know more about the industry

  • Client driven - you will be focussed on the needs of the clients

  • You will report to the Directors and Head of Studio.
