We have a great opportunity for a talented Garment Technologist to join the production team of a London studio.

Our Client is a supplier of Womenswear and Menswear multi-product to private label designers and UK, European and, US Brands. Working across bridal, dresses, tailoring, jersey, and outerwear product areas.

Reporting to the Head of Production the Garment Technologist will play a crucial role in the production team.

  • You will fully manage your own customer accounts and manage the full process of your orders from 1st fit through to production.

  • You will be in charge of the successful fitting, sealing and production approval of your product.

  • It will be your responsibility to work with our offshore production and QC teams to ensure the quality of finished product is to the standard our company expect.

  • The role will require you to prepare all fit comments for the offshore pattern teams and advise final grading measurements before the product goes into production.

  • Attend regular customer fit sessions in person/ online and build a great relationship with your customer accounts.

  • The role will require you to ensure all fabrics on our orders/PO’s have relevant testing, send out testing requirements for physical and chemical testing, and chase mills & suppliers for existing test reports.

  • Cross referencing testing available on running orders.

  • Prioritise and be on top pending and current testing status on all your orders.

  • Attend internal weekly critical path meetings and liaising with production team to ensure seal by dates are achieved and highlight any issues or concerns with running orders.

  • You will have an excellent technical knowledge of garment construction and patterns and alterations. You will need to be a good communicator to maintain effective communication with the inhouse sales, design and merchandising teams and our offshore factories and QC teams.

Experience required:

  • Relevant experience as a Garment Technologist with a supplier background is required.

  • Experience using 3D Fitting programmes is preferred.

  • Annual far east travel to our factories to work with the production teams on running orders / seasonal feedback and to implement any new procedures.

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented and dedicated Garment Technologist, who is highly organised and have good problem-solving skills as well as an exceptional attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of fabric testing is essential for this role.

  • Mandarin speaker would be an advantage.
